What do intuitive people do?

It is said that intuitive people are skilled at processing subconscious information and trusting their instincts. Have you ever wondered how intuitive you are? In this blog, I list ten things that intuitive people do so you can better understand your own intuitive abilities, and identify traits you'd like to further develop or strengthen.

When I was growing up, intuition was a bit mysterious to me. Society valued intellectual skills over intuitive abilities so I didn't really know what intuitive people were like, or what they did. When I finally started learning about my intuition, I quickly realised I shared many of the traits associated with being intuitive. Maybe it's the same for you? Have a read through the list below, and see what resonates.

#1 - Intuitive people are good listeners

Intuitive people are often good listeners when it comes to engaging with other people, as well as listening to and trusting their own inner voice. They are also good at taking action on their inner guidance. They don't require everything to look logical or make sense intellectually.

#2 - Intuitive people practice mindfulness

Intuitive people often incorporate mindfulness practices into their daily routines. They are interested in growing their self-awareness and optimising their health and well-being. Because of this, intuitive people are in tune with their bodies. They know when something is off or not quite right. They also value the information and insights that their emotions bring. This is why self-care is often a high priority for intuitive people.

"Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion." – Steve Jobs

#3 - Intuitive people experience the world differently

Intuitive people are not 'black and white thinkers'. They enjoy learning and asking questions and trying to understand the world around them and other people. They also enjoy challenging popular perceptions. Spiritual leaders, philosophers, artists, dancers, actors, musicians, writers, astrologers, astronomers, designers, teachers and healers are usually very intuitive.

#4 - Intuitive people are creative and curious

Intuitive people are often described as dreamers; they draw inspiration from their vivid imaginations and love traveling their rich inner world. It's very usual for intuitive people to be interested in spiritual practices, mysticism, old traditions, or the occult. This curiosity often links intuitive people to their deeper sense of meaning and purpose.

#5 - Intuitive people are attentive

Intuitive people pay attention to their thoughts. They notice patterns and hidden meanings, including ‘coincidences’, chance encounters, de-ja-vu experiences, symbols, numbers, and dreams. Intuitive people are also observant, noticing their environment and surroundings, as well as the non-verbal cues of other people. They can become overly sensitive to the energy of other people, which sometimes manifests as feeling drained, overwhelmed, or even unsafe in certain situations.

#6 Intuitive people are courageous

Intuitive people like to express themselves and they often do things despite what other people think of them. This may initially feel uncomfortable as intuitive people like peace and harmony, but intuitive people also know that going against themselves leads to inner turmoil which they find untenable. This enhances the natural leadership qualities that intuitive people often have.

#7 - Intuitive people enjoy solitude

Intuitive people enjoy their own company. They are thoughtful and introspective. They work well alone and often choose to 'fly solo'. They usually don't like making small talk, but they do still enjoy other people. In fact, they often like bringing people together and finding ways to resolve problems and conflicts, which makes them good team players.

# 8 - Intuitive people love nature

Intuitive people enjoy spending time outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and other people. They have a strong connection to animals and the natural world. The beauty and power of nature contains the calmness and serenity that intuitive people need to 'tune in'.

#9 - Intuitive people are empathetic

Intuitive people are often sensitive to the needs and emotions of other people. They accurately understand what other people are feeling or experiencing, and find it easy to put themselves in other people's shoes. This means intuitive people have a natural ability to support and comfort other people, i.e. they are natural healers.

#10 - Intuitive people seek balance and harmony

Intuitive people love peace and harmony. They also have a strong sense of fairness and justice, and they often want to make a positive impact on the world and other people. Because of this, intuitive people often lend themselves to community causes, or become counselors or therapists.

Conclusion

Everyone has their own unique way of experiencing and using their intuition. It is not a case of one-size-fits-all. Being intuitive simply means having a heightened sense of awareness,' plus a keen interest to access their subconscious mind.
